Je suis tombé récemment sur des actes de décès comportant la mention "major" ou "minor".
J'avais supposé que cela voulait dire "majeur" ou "mineur" et donc signifié si la personne était un enfant ou un adulte.

Mais je tombe sur un cas particulier.

Transcription : "Antoninus PIOPPO minor vir Francesca LO CIANCIO etatis sue anno sexagesima"
Traduction : "Antonino PIOPPO, mineur, époux de Francesca LO CIANCIO, âgé de 60 ans".

Il semble qu'être mineur à 60 ans, c'est bizarre non ?!

D'ailleurs, j'ai maintenant un doute sur l'interprétation de "vir" !

Pour clarifier le contexte, il y a plusieurs Antonino PIOPPO dans la même ville à la même époque.
Et en relisant la signification latine de "minor", je me demande si cela ne se traduit pas par "junior"
Et donc "major" par "senior"

Ce qui deviendrait "Antonino jr. PIOPPO, époux de Francesca LO CIANCIO, âgé de 60 ans".
Ce qui devient compréhensible (et donne comme indication implicite que le père s'appelle aussi Antonino).

I'm hoping if anyone be able to help me to find two of my ancestors which I am having trouble getting any information. I've been working on my family tree of my mother's side. My grandfather was born in Australia but my great and 2x great grandparents were born in Malta and they migrated to Australia. The two ancestors I'm focusing on are my great grandmother, Carmela Mifsud (on birth certificate Maria Carmela Mifsud) who married to my great grandfather Antonio Saliba, and my 2x great grandfather, Emmanuele Mifsud (Carmela's father). I have small information on both of them but it's not enough to get more information on them on any website such as Ancestry.com and other family tree websites. 
These information I know of Maria-Carmela Mifsud - I have both of her marriage and birth certificates that I ordered from Malta Public Registry. She was born 8th October 1907 in Rabat and married to Antonio Saliba on 28th February 1929 in Floriana, Malta. Three months they after married, they migrated to Australia. Carmela's parents are Emmanuele Mifsud and Antonia Mifsud (names from Carmela's birth certificate). I was told that Emmanuele was born in Malta and grew up in France and he committed suicided. I can't find any of information of him but I have found document of war that he went and according to Carmela's birth certificate that Emmanuele was vice or deputy corporal in the Royal Maltese Artillery.

Is there any information or guide that may be able to help to find more informations on Carmela or Emmanuele Mifsud.

toujours la même consigne, si vous êtes arrêtés sur des ancêtres je vous conseille d'aller voir sur le site,
en effet une petite équipe travaille à plein temps presque, pour relire les mariages sur les registres
donc sait on jamais !
en ce qui concerne les baptêmes, il y a des ajouts 
toute l'équipe vous souhaite de belles trouvailles

Maria's parents were Angelo and Pepina Caruana and the family were from Malta

Maria was born in 1839

Maria married Giacomo Martini in the Parish of Vittoriosa, Malta in 1866.

j'ai trouvé sur Geneanum le mariage de Francesco BORSINI avec Luigia MONTI en 1878 à St Croix à Tunis

Il semblerait qu'il faille être de la famille pour obtenir l'acte ... ce qui n'est cas
