Good morning,  I appeal to your help , my grandmother Marie-Jeanne Scicluna aged 94, looking for the birth certificate of her great-grandfather Jean Scicluna born in Malta on November 7, 1818 and died in Algeria in Blida on January 12, 1892 , he is the son of jean Scicluna and Marie Xuereb, born in GOZO and probably died in Malta GOZO

I miss the birth certificate of John Scicluna born in 1818 probably in GOZO.

I’m also missing his parents' marriage certificate, maybe between 1815 ans 1818? , De Maria Xuereb his mother and jean Scicluna his father, and also his birth certificate, probably between 1785 and 1805, probably in GOZO

Important thing: the letter of the beginning of the name was spelled differently in French Algerie , Scicluna? , so xicluna or cicluna or schembri or sciberras ? Maybe is the correct spelling at the time in Malta.

Jean Scicluna was both shepherd’s Chevrier this is what is noted in the marriage certificate with Liberata Formosa seamstress, also born in Malta that I own.

My grandmother and I will be very happy with the assets. You will understand that by her quite advanced age she would like to have them quickly if you find them and if possible

Firstly, I would like to say well done and thank you for the enormous effort in creating the geneanum website. It is really impressive.

I have been doing my own personal research for the last month (when I have time), and I hope I may find some advice here.

My first question concerns the sources given in the database. For example, if you search for the marriage between Gabriele Debono and Imperia Zarb (1718), it says film 7592 photo 779. I do not understand what 7592 refers to, I cannot find this source or marriage in the Adami collection. Could someone explain to me how I would find this source please? I looked manually in the collection for Lija, but I could not see this marriage. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Also, maybe someone here could confirm something. In the archives: Naxxar, MMML7285, page 27, Franciscus Debono. His mother is 'Maria Vincenza Mallia educata ab Agostino Mallia...' Does 'educata ab' mean she was adopted? I believe she was born in Birkirkara, but I have not yet been able to find any births or marriage for her or her father.... I will keep looking!

And finally, on a slightly different topic, has anyone here had any experience or success tracing Maltese records from Egypt?

Zurrieq : les filiations ont été rajoutées pour certaines années, il n’y avait qu’un index fait, le travail n’est pas encore terminé mais ça avance

Quelques mariages rajoutés aussi

Vittoriosa, Josyanne avait en sa possession quelques photos prises à Malte, j’ai complété les patronymes des parents

Sur Gozo notre ami Guy a traité des grosses familles, donc il y a des mariages en plus (je l’en remercie au passage)

Pour les baptêmes il y a des baptêmes nouveaux en ce qui concerne Zebbug de Malte, il reste encore des années à traiter mais c’est en cours, merci à tous les bénévoles qui ont participé à ce travail

Il y a aussi sur Zurrieq quelques modifications de patronymes qui étaient erronés, donc si vous avez des ancêtres sur Zurrieq, peut être qu’un petit coup d’œil serait intéressant

In the Status Animarum for 1741 - 1757 there is an indexed census for 1699. It is indexed for heads of households only but includes both wife and husband. The index is by Christian name - although the end of the index (names beginning with V)is missing. The very beginning and the very end of the census is missing.The census is very detailed giving the exact dates of birth/baptism for the majority of entries (including adults). I have typed the index into excel and cross-checked it with the actual census. I have put those whose christian name begins with V into the index and there were a couple of families that had been omitted. Anyone is welcome to the index - just email me.

Finding this information has really helped me which is why I am posting this message.
