Je recherche sans succès, depuis plusieurs années, des informations sur mes ancêtres maltais. Voici tout ce que je sais d'eux :

Paul FALZON a eu au moins 3 fils partis vers 1857 à Constantinople où ils se sont installés :

* Nicolas né à Malte vers 1830/35, marié à Constantinople avec Joséphine VELLA le 10/10/1858 (d'où 10 enfants)

* Joseph (mon ancêtre)né à Malte vers 1842, marié à Constantinople avec Regina BOGDANOVICH le 21/9/1873 (d'où 9 enfants)

* Salvatore né à Malte vers 1847/50, marié à Constantinople avec Angela MACHATE le 27/1/1884 (d'où 4 enfants).

Par contre, je ne retrouve pas Paul FALZON, le père, ni aucune information sur la mère, probablement restés à Malte (dans quelle ville ?)car absents aux mariages de leurs enfants. Je sais que Paul est décédé entre 1873 et 1884, en croisant les informations familiales.

On me parle beaucoup de la base de données Adami, mais je n'y trouve pas Paul FALZON ; peut-être que quelqu'un peut m'aider, car je dois mal m'y prendre.

Je cherche le décès de Paul, ainsi que les naissances de ses enfants, notamment Nicolas, Joseph, et Salvatore.

I am trying to locate information about my mother's first cousin, Alic Cohen. He was born in London approximately 1901 (I don't have an exact birth date), served in the British Royal Navy, and was stationed on Malta in the 1920s. Many years later while serving in the Royal Navy during WW2, at a particular ‘mail-call’ on the ship he was serving on, the shout went out for ‘’Alic Cohen’’. To Alic’s great surprise a much younger man also stepped forward at the same time as him to claim the letter, and it was his son that he knew nothing about. Young Alic’s mother had not told Alic the senior that she was expecting and did not contact him after the birth either. Apparently at the end of the war Alic Senior returned to Malta, found Alic Junior's mother and lived out the rest of his life there. Alic Senior was born Jewish; we don't know if he continued this association after moving to Malta permanently. I don't know if this complicates the record search or not.

What I am trying to determine is whether there are records of Alic Cohen's life on Malta; marriage records, whether there is a tombstone for him (Alic Cohen –either senior or junior)in the (Jewish-?)cemetery, etc. And perhaps documentation of his son’s birth, etc. The reason this has become important to the family at this time, is that we have a young woman who is a DNA match to several of us in the family who has a link to Malta, and we are trying to find a link to our family.

The story for the young woman is that her father, Jonathan Sinclair, was born in Canada circa 1973 to William Sinclair and a woman with the first name of Lena; the maiden name was possibly Vogel, but we don’t know that for sure. Lena was born on Malta-we presume around the time of WWII, and had a father in the Royal Navy. I am suspecting that either Alic Cohen Senior or Alic Cohen Junior was Lena's father, but I don’t know which one it was for certain. Lena came to Canada as a young girl. I wish I had more details, but the young woman’s parents didn’t marry and she has had little contact with her paternal family, which is where her Jewish DNA is coming from.

Is there a genealogist or archivist on the island who can help us with this? Perhaps there’s a list of birth and death records/burials for the Jewish community that can be reviewed..

Any suggestions or assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to locate the marriage of Alexandre Callus (bp 1779 Phillip Alexandre Augustus Callus in Zebbug)and Teresa Secondini. My original hunch was that this would have taken place between 1800 - 1804 because they had a daughter Caterina (Marie Catherine Jerome)born about 1805. However the only Teresa Secondini I can find was baptised 14-9-1791 as Teresa Saveria Lorenza Vittoria Generosa Vincenza Secondini at Birkirkara.

This family were exiled to Corsica after the Siege of Valletta in 1799-1800 as supporters of Napoleon but I cannot find the date of the evacuation. The Teresa above seems too young (13 years)to be the correct person and I cannot find any further info on any of these individuals in Geneanum.

Where can I find a record of the baptisms, births and deaths entered into geneanum.com by parish? The geneanum website lists how many baptismal/marriage/death records have been transcribed for each parish, but does not indicate which years have been transcribed for each parish, nor does it indicate if the transcription of all the parish's records is complete. This information would be particularly useful for tracking progress on the transcription of marriage records, since so many have already been transcribed. I'd like to identify which years have not yet been transcribed in the parishes I am researching, and then focus my research on those records in the diocesan archives.  Thanks!

je suis dans mes recherches généalogiques et je rencontre des difficultés sur ma famille ABELA .Nous sommes originaire de malte mais cela remonte a peu près a 1800 et même avant cette date .Celui que je recherche se nomme ABELA Gabriel ,il serait né vers 1800 ou avant ,il est parti ensuite en espagne et s'est marié a une PEREZ Josefa a Cox province d'Alicante .Est-ce que quelqu'un peut m'aider ?
