I have two marriages on the same date for the same couple but in two
different parishes.
can anyone explain this for me ?
12 June 1718 Giovanni Spiteri to Antonia Chetcuti. One in St Paul
shipwrecked and the other in Qormi. the other difference is the name
of the wifes mother.

nearly all of them are doubled
once registered in the parish of where they live
and another time in the parish of the wife
often with a few days apart
and so often with different filiations !!! God knows why ?

et malheureusement avec souvent des erreurs sur les prénoms des mères
c est à nous de vérifier en demandant l acte

if you write to both parrishes, you will get the marriage from each of them
one might be more complete than the other ? but I donot know which one
en écrivant aux 2 paroisses vous aurez les mêmes info mais l un sera peut être plus complete que l autre

Your best bet to verify the information is to email the parishes in Malta, giving them the details you have obtained and requesting confirmation the they have the same information in their registers together with a copy of the registration. The email is parrocca.cospicua(at)maltesediocese.org, you change to town/city name to send to the other parishes.

Non le Francais que j'ais appris, durant la premiere annee de mes etude dans une ecole Francaise et le petit peux que j'ais aussi appris a l'ecole Anglaise durant le reste de mes etudes, est toujours avec mois; mais malheureusement je n'ais pas beaucoup d'occassions de utiliser souvant.
