Cordialement,
Loïck Portelli
A Giuliana is a collection of indexed volumes with the genealogy of entire families. The name Giuliana is derived from the name of Julius Caesar, who tried to research the origins of the Roman people. An important Giuliana; the one compiled by Goffredo Adami, is kept at the National Library of Malta and is open for research.
In the coming days a Giuliana will be donated to the National Archives Gozo Section. This Giuliana consists of 88 volumes in which one can find almost all the family trees of the Gozitan families. An additional value to this collection are the number of references to contracts, donations and issues related to land property in relation to the listed individuals. Lands are referred to in their original topomastic name.
The author of this Giuliana was the Architect Pietru Attard (15 May 1836 5 July 1916). Attard was a prominent figure in the social life of Gozo.
This Giuliana will be generously donated to the National Archives Gozo Section by Mr Franco Masini. The collection will be classified under the fond name GM - Giuliana Masini.
