But now I have seen also the attachment you sent of the marriage registration between Giovanni Azzopardi and Antonia Bugeja and Maddalena's surname (if I am not wrong) is FAVA - quite like JAVA. FAVA is a Maltese surname although not very common. To be sure, as I have already said, I will try to check with the marriage registration of Michele Azzopardi and Maddalena.
