[Malte] Fauzza thread?

I am trying to find out more about the Fauzza family in Malta. My great grandmother was Maria Giuseppa Fauzza, who married aged 32 years, Valletta 1901. I have her marriage certificate. Her father was Salvatore Fauzza and he married Raimunda Gauchi in 1851 Valletta,
Salvatores father was Geronimo Fauzza and mother Caterina Guerini.
My question is: I cannot find much information about the Fauzza family. On Salvatores marriage notes it says ‘’de Marsala’ .
I believe I found a Salvatore fauzza in 1888 Alexandria as a jeweller, British citizen, Maltese and been in Egypt before 1882.
Does anyone have  info on how to find more out about Fauzzas in Malta or Egypt?

Hello, Thank you for this really excellent response. I have been informed by another descendant who has found Salvatores sister Angela birth certificate in Marsala Sicily in 1831. Her parents are Girolamo FAVUZZA and Caterina Canino, which show a different surname. \interestingly there are no other Fauzzas or Favuzzas in the records in Marsala. I will keep on looking as there is so many avenues to search.
