Pachino Sicily Records - Gina - 07-07-2023

I am a very new user on this site researching my Sicilian and Maltese roots. I was reviewing the marriage records database for Pachino, Sicily, and in the origin/residence column of the husband and wife, there were some town names that appeared to be in Latin. They are Hyspicafundi, Terre Balneorum, Hybla and Platia. Does anyone know what towns these translate to?  Thank you.

Hello,

Yes we transcribe as they were written (maybe without spelling mistakes).
Could be hard to track, especially if it's old town.

Nevertheless, I managed to found :
Hybla :
- Hybla-Major, now Paterno, near Etna.
- Hybla-Minor or Heraea south east of Sicily
- Hybla-Parva, later Megara near Syracusa

Terre Balneorum => Canicattini Bagni

Platia => Platea => Piazza Armerina

I didn't find Hyspicafundi
