Question regarding baptism records - joshthom - 20-10-2020

Hi all,

I have a question regarding interpreting baptism records.

Was it common to include multiple children baptised on one date? as often the records show three children names.

For example Publio, Angelo, Lorenzo all listed on 09/02/1922.

Any help is appreciated.

It's important to read the record: the child can have many names.

Was it custom to give a child three names?

Hello
Could you be more precise.
Is it oine children with several first names or many children baptised the same day ?

Hi,

Sorry for any confusion. I was mistaking each baptism name for a separate child. I have figured out how to read the records more efficiently now.

However I have another question that has arisen. What does it mean when the initials "p.i." appear as the fathers name?

Regards,

Joshua Sultana.

Bonjour
p.i = parents inconnus

Maltese people have often three or five firstname.

P.i = unknown parents

Sometimes, there is two child baptised on the same parish records because they are twins.
But we always split in two rows.
