Without in any way belittling those who have replied to this thread
I have never been able to understand the need to anglicise Maltese
or other language first names.
I have a friend here in Malta, his name is Carlo and I would not
dream of calling him Charles even though we need to converse in
English.
My Maltese grandmother was Giusseppa and that was her name- not
Josephine and her father was Giusseppe not Joseph.
Perhaps I am the odd one out.
