Dear Josyanne
Some advice please. I have the marriage of Catharina Aquilina to Andrea Buttigieg 13 Feb 1806 Cospicua. Parents of Catharina shown as Benigno Aquilina and Evangelista Zahra. I couldn't find a marriage for these parents then I spotted the marriage of Giuseppe Aquilina to Liberata Mamo 7 Oct 1805 Cospicua. His parents given as Benigno Aquilina and Evangelista Sammut.
I wondered if Evangelista Zahra and Evangelista Sammut were the same person even more so now I see a marriage of Beligno Aquilina to Maria Evangelista Zammit 23 Nov 1777 Gharb Gozo. I assume Beligno is a mis-spelling.
Do you think Zahra, Sammut and Zammit could be versions of the same surname?

did you look at the notaries data base ?
As I was with J.C. AQUILINA in Malta, he was searching for all the AQUILINA he could find
anyway ZAMMIT / SAMMUT / SAMMUT are very often mixed by the priest
as for Begnino obviously if written Beligno it is a mistake
as for ZAHRA instead of ZAMMIT ??? I will check the register to see
it is written ZAHRA .....Another mistake from the priest ????
I think you should write to the church to check ?
or do check if that evangelista née SAMMUT could be remarried with a ZAHRA
?
