On the database Domenico Vassallo and Maria Xerri’s wedding is listed as 1620-09-20. What does it mean that his surname is listed as VASSALLO dit Zhaira?
And where could this Iccinus land be?
As for Maria’s sister(s?) through whom this famous legacy was passed on (I suppose?) we have the following marriages all taking place in Mosta within the same time frame but they might be different families since the mothers are different (unless Paolo Xerri married twice when his daughters were young?)
1. 1618-09-16 SAMMUT Domenico (Cataldo x Marietta) + XERRI Caterina (Paolo x Simona)
2. 1620-09-20 VASSALLO dit Zhaira Domenico (Mariano x Laura). + XERRI Maria (Paolo x mother unlisted)
3. 1625-04-27 FENECH Giuseppe (unlisted parents) + XERRI Argenta (Paolo x Bernarda)
4. 1627-07-29 AGIUS Rafaele (unlisted parents) + XERRI Grazia (Paolo x BRINCAT Bernarda)
So if any of these are her sisters, Maria Xerri’s mother could either be Bernarda Brincat or Simona?

Zhaira is the nickname of Domenico.
I haven't study Maria family, but Georges thinks the mother of Maria is Bernarda BRINCAT.

Le relevé notarié joint (Donation) indique clairement que Maria XERRI (épouse Domenico VASSALLO) est bien la fille de Bernarda DE BRINCAT.
The "Domenico VASSALLO x Maria XERRI" tree is the attached one, as per Nicolas and me.
